Product Description
A food label lives a harder life than almost anything else we print. It rides through filling lines, cold storage, condensation and a thousand hands before the customer ever reads it. Spec it like a candle label and it peels in the dairy case. We work backward from where the product actually sits — fridge, shelf, freezer or squeeze — then pick the substrate, adhesive and finish to match.
Substrate. Wet, chilled or squeezable products get BOPP film (40–50 micron, white / clear / metallic) or PET (25–36 micron) when you want maximum clarity and scratch resistance on glass. Dry goods — tea, coffee, snack pouches — take coated or textured paper for the premium shelf look at lower cost. PP synthetic paper covers the middle: opaque, tear-proof, prints like paper.
Adhesive. For room-temperature dry goods we run water-based adhesive — eco-friendly, low-odour, and it prints clean on indirect-food-contact jobs. Anything going into the chiller or freezer gets oil-based adhesive rated to -20°C; without it the label lifts within a week in the dairy case. Removable adhesive is available for promo or resealable packs.
Finish. Gloss lamination is the default for beverage: vivid, and it seals the print so sweat can't reach the ink. Matte or soft-touch for a premium, skincare-like feel. Spot UV and hot foil for logos and accents — common on craft sauce and premium spirits.
Compliance. Indirect food-contact materials, BPA-free inks, and full FDA / EU 1935/2004 documentation on request. We'd rather spec it right than explain it at the border.

- Accepted artwork: vector — AI, CDR, SVG; bitmap — PDF, JPG, PNG. We take both. Vector (AI / CDR / SVG) is preferred for labels with small text, fine lines or logos — they stay crisp at any size. Bitmap (PDF / JPG / PNG) is fine for photo-based or full-bleed designs.
- Resolution & bleed: supply bitmap at 300 DPI or higher, with a 3 mm bleed on every side and text kept at least 4 mm inside the trim.
- Plate / setup fee: a one-time plate or cylinder setup charge applies per design and per process; we confirm the exact amount in your quote.
- Minimum order: standard processes start from 1,000 pcs; dome and sticker runs can go lower. Tell us your target qty and we quote to it.
- Color matching: give us Pantone numbers or a physical sample for accurate matching; we print to your specified spot or process color.
