Product Description

Custom foil stamped and embossed wine label
Paper wine label with gold foil crest and embossed decorative elements

At DJB we run high-end wine labels on textured art paper or metallized paper, then add hot foil stamping and embossing for a finish customers can both see and feel. The paper substrate holds the embossed relief without springing back — something film materials cannot do — so the crest, typography and borders stay crisp and raised. A matte or gloss lamination can be added for ice-bucket resistance, and the adhesive is tuned for glass bottles so the label stays put in cold storage and humid cellars.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Can you emboss on BOPP or PET film labels?
No. Embossing and debossing rely on paper fibers holding a permanent deformation. Film materials such as BOPP or PET spring back, so the relief disappears. For film labels we recommend cold foil or metallic ink to achieve a metal look without embossing.
Q2: What is the finest line you can hold in foil stamping?
About 0.2 mm. Hairline text or very fine patterns should be kept slightly heavier to ensure clean foil transfer and avoid broken lines.
Q3: Can foil stamping and embossing be combined on one label?
Yes. We use registered foil-and-emboss dies so the metallic area and the raised relief align in a single pass. This is the classic premium wine-label look you see on the bottle here.
Q4: Will embossed paper labels survive an ice bucket?
They will if you add a matte or gloss lamination. Uncoated deep emboss can soften when soaked, so we always recommend a protective finish for wine that will be chilled in ice.
Q5: What paper stocks do you recommend for embossed wine labels?
Textured art paper, cotton paper and metallized paper are the most common. Each gives a different feel — cotton is soft and organic, textured art paper shows off fine detail, and metallized paper adds extra shine under foil.
Q6: What is the lead time and sample policy?
Production is usually 5–7 working days after artwork approval. Stock samples are free (you pay freight); custom samples carry a fee that is 100% refundable against bulk orders of $1,000 or more.
